The Pemberton Canoe Association will be offering three flat water programs this summer:

FUNdamentals & Foundations Program (8-14+)

Dates: MON & WED (3:30PM - 5PM) for July & August*
*No program on MONDAY< AUGUST 6 - running on Wednesday, Aug 8 & Friday, Aug 10 instead
Fees: $100
Prerequisite : One session of Canoe Kids or Regatta Ready Camp

FUNdamentals & Foundations is the next step up from the Canoe Kids & Regatta Ready Camps. Participants will further develop their paddling skills in both sprint canoes & kayaks. From here, they may choose to continue as a recreational paddler or move towards our Junior Competitive Program.

Pemberton Regatta Opportunity - August 18 (OPTIONAL)
Get a sense of what competing in sprint canoe & kayak is all about at a local Regatta on One Mile Lake
Race Fee $20 registration

JUNIOR COMPETITIVE (9 to 14+)

Dates: Monday, July 2 – Sunday September 9th
Fees: $250
Suggested Prerequisite : Regatta Ready Camp or FUNdamentals program (at Coaches discretion)

This is training for our Sprint Racing Program. Athletes typically start with a summer camp or the FUNdamentals program before transitioning to a this program. Coaches will communicate with athletes and parents and will determine the optimal progression of paddlers as they develop.


Continue to develop paddlers boat skills and balance through workouts, balance challenges and dry land training.

ELITE COMPETITIVE TEAM (13+)

Dates: Monday July 2nd to Sunday September 9th
Fees: $400

The Elite Competitive program is for athletes who have participated in the Junior Competitive program for a number of years (or at Coach’s discretion), have developed their paddling skills and are ready to commit to full time training. The program will focus on developing advanced skills, competitive development and refining skills under race conditions, building strength, speed, and endurance, as well as effective goal setting.

Paddlers are expected to attend both on-water and off-water practices as well as train on their own according to a provided training schedule. Athletes are expected to attend the majority of Regattas throughout the racing season.
